These scale mail candle holders are a wonderful and unique decoration. They fit a tea light candle with either the thin metal or plastic outsides. They are made from anodized aluminum scales and woven together with stainless steel rings. This skirt can be displayed in two ways, either the drawn position that resembles a lotus flower or the relaxed position that looks more like a sunflower. Both are beautiful and you can easily switch between the two depending on your preference. The skirt holds the candle slightly above the surface it is placed on, but I would still use the same caution as when burning any candle and protect surfaces from the heat. Also be careful not to grab the flower when lit since aluminum conducts heat very well. 

 
When in the relaxed position, the skirt measures about 3 1/4 inches in diameter and the lotus is about 2 3/4 inches depending on the flexing of the scales.
